Research Technician Position – KRENN lab available in the Laboratory of Developmental Neuroimmunobiology, Dept. Biotechnology & Bioscience (BtBs), University of Milan-Bicocca, Milan, Italy
The objective of the project is to identify and characterize the central and peripheral circuits directly or indirectly involved in the regulation of body weight in mice. Circuits will be identified using viral techniques, then imaged and manipulated during both homeostasis and metabolic challenges (i.e. obesity). Experimental read-outs will comprise behavioral (e.g. food preference) and physiological parameters (body temperature, lipid oxidation rate, etc) as well as molecular analysis of gene expression (single-cell sequencing and bulk transcriptomics of brain and somatic organ tissue). The postdoctoral candidate is expected to spearhead the project and collaborate with other lab members. The candidate is expected to capitalize on the collaborative environment, availability of cutting-edge resources, and interdisciplinary expertise to achieve the research objectives. He/she should possess a solid academic background in neuroscience and/or endocrinology. Prior experience in working with mice animal models, stereotaxic surgery, transcriptomics, and imaging is a strong plus
HT is looking for 2 bioinformaticians for the Centre for Neurogenomics, respectively in the CEll REference BRain Atlas (CEREBRA) Scientific Support unit and the Software Development and Data Curation Scientific Support unit.
