Data Scientist elected “Best Job 2018” (3th consecutive year in a row)

Glassdoor (one of the largest and most popular jobs sites in the world, with 41 million unique users and 5,800 paying employer clients/partners last year) has just released its annual list of the 50 best jobs in America for 2018.

Which job came out as the best job of them all? According to Glassdoor’s analysis the answer is Data Scientist, which earned the top spot on the “best jobs” for the third consecutive year in a row. Glassdoor based the 2018 Ranking on employee job satisfaction, salary potential and the number of current job openings, weighting each factor equally and sourcing all data from its website.

In parallel, Forbes Magazine noted there were 2,900 individual job vacancies (US job market), on average, for the position of data scientist in 2016. That number is expected to increase to nearly 200,000 open positions by the end of this year, as per a study conducted by McKinsey Global Institute. No wonder Harvard Business Review - already 5 years ago - named Data Scientist: The Sexiest Job of the 21st Century!
